The Discovery of Yoga

I discovered Yoga today. Well I guess I should actually say that I consciously decided to explore the world of yoga today. It was both calming and intense at the same time. I can say however that I will definitely be giving it at least a few more tries. Found the quietest room in the house and located this really good yoga video online at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_725qp3_qo.

Relaxation here I come. Best of all its only twenty minutes long!

Gym Horrors

Trying to locate a gym with classes that were scheduled during the time periods that I had available was becoming a nightmare. On more than one occasion I literally felt like screaming with frustration.

My son in his innocent wisdom suggested that I take a jog or speed walk in our neighbourhood. We live in a fairly descent neighbourhood with enough twists, turns and inclines to give a good sweat.  I tried it and got the added bonus of spending some time with my son as he came along with me.  Try it! I promise you it’s the best of many worlds in that it can be done on your time budget, supports quality family time, contributes to physical and mental wellness and its free too.

Hello World

As a woman in my thirties I wear various hats on a daily basis. Single Parent, Member of a Management Team and Part Time MBA student. To pronounce that I am on both a time budget and a financial budget will be an understatement. Life has a way of throwing everything at you all at once. School deadlines tend to collide with work deadlines, school meetings, home work and exam preparation. In the midst of trying to successfully manage it all I lost focus on my physical and mental well being. A routine physical gave me a rather rude wake up call that I had essentially ceased taking care of myself. As I endeavour to get my well being back on track please join me on this journey to recapture physical and mental wellness on both a time budget and a financial budget.
